Teddy L. Thompson, M.D.; Medical Director

Teddy ThompsonDr. Ted was raised in Bloomington, MN.  He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota and graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine.  He completed his Family Practice Residency with the University of Minnesota Fairview & St. Mary’s Hospital.

 


 

 



Tom Bolan MSSW, LCSW, CSAC, ICS, IDP-AT, Executive Director, Mental Health Professional

Tom is a therapist licensed as a mental health professional, clinical substance abuse counselor, and clinical supervisor. He has completed degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Aurora University. Tom has also received training in office based treatment for opiate addiction with the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He has extensive experience in the behavioral health field working in the public and private sector. He is a strength based patient centered clinician and has developed and implemented mental health and addiction treatment programs including intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential/transitional. In addition to his clinical experience Tom has served as an educator and field placement supervisor for graduate level students and entry level clinicians.

Rachelle Mertes, RN, Nursing Supervisor

                                                              

 

Rachelle has worked in the healthcare field since she was seventeen years old. She began working as a CNA, while in high school, and then became a LPN shortly after. She graduated from MN SETC, in 2012, and has been working as a Registered Nurse early 2013. Rachelle has enjoyed working in the mental health field and has gained experience and knowledge at her previous employers, Trempealeau County Health Care Center and Mayo Clinic Health System; In Patient Behavioral Health. Outside of work, Rachelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends

Dan Geronime ADN, RN, Dispensing Nurse

Dan comes to AMS with fourteen years of experience in the field of nursing. He completed his ADN in 2008. Dan is patient centered and makes every effort to empower his patients through education. His work experience includes leadership roles and critical care nursing

 

 

 

 

 

Tracy Weber BSN, RN, Dispensing Nurse

 

Tracy has been in the healthcare field for fourteen years in many different settings working in various capacities.  She has been a nurse since 2011, and completed her BSN in 2016.  She is dedicated to the care and recovery of the patients she serves.  She takes a non-judgmental approach and focuses on patient centered care.  Her extensive experience working in different nursing roles provides her with a diverse perspective to patient care

 

 

 

 

Lindsay Anderson, RN, Dispensing Nurse

Lindsay graduated from the Medical Assistant program at WWTC in 2006. In 2008 Lindsay went back to school to pursue her RN degree. After graduating she worked with Dementia patients and for an inpatient psychiatric facility. She also worked at an Plasma Collection facility conducting physical exams on all potential donors.

 

 





Jenny Coppens-Sobolewski, MS, SAC, Assistant Director
Jenny, Medical ReceptionistJenny graduated from Viterbo University in the spring of 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minoring in Substance Abuse Counseling. She recently graduated from the Winona State Counselor Education graduate program in Community Counseling. Jenny recently completed an Internship at La Crosse County Health and Human Services in the Mental Health Crisis Unit working with individuals with mental health and substance use. Jenny will continue to complete education and clinical hours in order to obtain licensure as a licensed professional counselor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Janet Verthein, ICS, CSAC, Clinical Supervisor
Janet Janet graduated from Viterbo University with a major in Psychology, a minor in business management and additional education in prevention and addiction. Her current credentials include Prevention Specialist and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor with the WI DSPS. 
Throughout her career, she has provided individual and group counseling. She has experience working with adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. She has experience working with Addiction, Mental Illness and Crisis Clients. She coordinated cares with other professional local law enforcement, medical providers and community mental health providers.





Jerry Sample, MS, CSAC, Counselor

Jerry graduated from Viterbo University in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and will be pursuing his LPC.  Jerry has worked in the field of addictions for 10+ years specializing in working with adolescents and young adults with substance abuse issues.  Jerry currently holds the credential of Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor with the WI DSPS.

Jerry has provided individual as well as group counseling.  He has extensive experience in assessment and treatment planning.  Jerry has also provided psychoeducation to families of loved ones who suffer from addiction.  Jerry is an advocate for the person who suffers from the disease of addiction and who is attempting to put their life  back together.

 

 

 

 

James Kerckhove, MS, SAC, Counselor

James KerckhoveJames has completed degrees from Viterbo University’s Addiction Studies and Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling programs. He has worked regionally in both transitional and inpatient treatment settings. James invests his professional skills and enthusiasm into mental health and addiction service outreach. His treatment advocacy goals include facilitating individual change and potential within the setting of a mobilized and informed community.




   

Michelle Richardson, BS,SAC, Counselor

Michelle attended Western Technical College, graduating with her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. She is currently enrolled at Viterbo University where she has obtained her Bachelor Degree in Addiction Studies and has begun working on her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. 

 

 

 

 

Kate Mulligan, BA, SAC-IT, Counselor

 Kate is a native of WI, who recently returned. Most recently, she was in San Diego where she obtained a certification in Substance Abuse Counseling. She completed an internship working with homeless veterans with substance abuse disorder. Most recently, she worked in a residential parolee program with men coming out of prison with mental illness and a substance abuse disorder. She is currently certified in Wisconsin as a Substance Abuse Counselor- In Training and will continue to work toward licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor through the DSPS.

 

 

 

Makayla Moran, Front Desk/Receptionist


Makayla graduated from the Medical Assistant program at WWTC in 2015.  She is currently pursuing a degree in Human Services. Makayla is excited to continue her education to help others help themselves on the road to recovery. Makayla Joined the AMS team in November 2016 and is excited to be part of this dynamic team of administrative, clinical and medical professionals

Richard Ruby, BA,CCS,ICS,CAP,CADC,CSAC, Director of Operations
Richard has over fourteen years’ experience in the substance abuse counseling field, specifically medication assisted treatment.  He is a veteran of the Armed Forces with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from West Chester University, PA.  He has achieved the internationally recognized Certified Clinical Supervisor credential in addition to the Certified Drug and Alcohol Certification.  Richard is holding the Independent Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor Credential in the state of Wisconsin and has recently achieved the Certified Addiction Professional credential in the state of Florida.

 He was once a construction worker turned security guard who started in addiction field as a counselor’s assistant.  With hard work, drive and determination; he transitioned from the respective roles of assistant counselor, counselor, clinical supervisor, Executive/Clinical Director which has now transitioned to assume the role of National Operations Coordinator and Risk Management Officer for the parent company; Addiction Medical Solutions, LLC.  He understands the disease concept of addiction having experienced and suffered from a history of addiction. Richard is a proud father of three who has been with AMS of Delaware since the program was developed in 2011 and has been instrumental in start up operations in Wisconsin and Florida.  This clinical professional turned administrator believes in the therapeutic nature of counseling, disease concept of addiction and medication assisted treatment services.  Richard’s philosophy regarding addiction treatment services models harm reduction.
Chad Redman, MS, ICS, CSAC, Corporate Compliance Officer

 

Chad Redman is Corporate Compliance Officer for AMS. He has overall responsibility for the Company's corporate compliance programs. He specializes in compliance, performance improvement, licensing and regulatory guidelines, CARF preparation, case management, clinical guidelines, quality management, strategic planning and business development.

Chad has been with AMS since 2013. Prior to joining AMS he has served in a number of leadership positions. Chad's most recent positions include director, Clinical Supervisor, Drug court coordinator, surveyor, therapist and employee assistance.   He holds a bachelor's degree in criminology and a master's degree in counseling
